Bill said Mark had an emergency and would not be attending the meeting and Cathy was home sick with the flu.
Terry Fedelem who is on the City of Naples Pension Board attended our meeting to talk about possible pension changes. The Pension Board formed a committee of Terry Fedelem Robert Monico and Penny Dauch to look into what pension changes the employees and the unions want. We discussed the Drop Plan, Retirement Fall Back clause, A Health Insurance Subsidy, A 2% or 3% COLA and an increase in the multiplier to 2.65 or 2.75. An actuary report of the pension changes would have to be done. We will ask if the City will split the cost of the report with AFSCME, the City and OPEU. A motion was made by Bill to pursue the cost of increasing the above mentioned benefits to the pension plan. Sue seconded the motion and approved by all present. Terry will take the information to the sub pension committee.
Larry typed the newsletter and made copies to be mailed to all AFSCME dues and non dues paying members. Carolyn and Larry put labels on the envelopes and inserted the newsletters in the envelopes for mailing.
Irwin left at 6:00pm.
Sue left at 6:20pm and they were almost finished with the mailing of the newsletters.
