Summary of 2009-2012 Proposed Contract Changes

Article 8 GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE - Agreed to list of three (3) arbitrators and hearing within 180 calendar days.
Article 11 BASIC WORK WEEK - The City may reduce normal work cycle for budgetary reasons. This can only happen with impact bargaining.
Article 13 PERSONAL LEAVE - Personal Leave replaces sick leave, vacation leave and vacation purchase program, (see bulletin board for entire article).
Article 16 HOLIDAYS - Holiday pay is suspended for first two years of contract. The holidays will return in the third year. This will be spread out over 26 pay periods. If you work the holiday you will be paid one and a half times normal rate.
Article 17 INSURANCE - Employee's insurance premiums will increase by 5% .

Article 24 WAGES - Wage freeze in first two years of contract. Hourly rate will remain the same. Reopen in third year of contract.
Article 25 OTHER MONETARY ISSUES - Holiday bonus suspended for two years. Safety shoes will require receipts for reimbursement.
Article 26 SOLID WASTE TASK SYSTEM - Deleted from contract.
Article 27 PENSION - Pension stays the same. Pension can be reopened one time during the contract.
