Executive Board Special Meeting

Meeting called to order at 5:17pm by President Mark Steiner

We need to type a list tonight of the team members and alternates and give to HR.
The Health Committee Meeting is February 26 at 10:30am at City Hall Conference Room.
Mark sent a letter to Council 79 President Jeannette Wynn concerning not receiving membership cards. We are going to resend the letter to AFSCME International President MacEntee.
March 14 there is a picnic in Bradenton for the Region 3 People Meeting. Contact Mark if anyone wants to attend.
Mark is heading up the Leadership Committee for Region III.
Bill is going to check addresses & returns with our new list we just received from HR of dues paying members.
It was brought to our attention that Robert Monico has been looking to be replaced due to his work schedule. There was a discussion about the Pension Board and its functions. Cathy made a motion to ask Robert to resign. Seconded by Bill and approved by all. We will decide a new representative at the next meeting.
The negotiation team met on February 9 to set ground rules and the first meetings. They are 3/3/09 9:00am, 3/9/09 9:00am and 3/25/09 1:00pm. Irwin is the Chief Negotiator for AFSCME and Roger Reinke is the Chief Negotiator for the City. Mark & Irwin discussed the ground rules. We need to cancel the 3/3/09 meeting and change to 3/5/09 so we can type up which articles to open and not open for the 3/5/09 meeting.
Motion to suspend meeting by John and seconded by Bill to go off record to discuss contract. Approved by all.
Meeting restarted at 7:17pm.
