Meeting called to order at 5:05pm by President Mark Steiner

In attendance:

Council 79 Rep: Irwin Scharfeld

Cathy Via and Johnny Perez working and cannot attend. John Gardella out due to injury (at home on workmans comp.)

1. Only three board members present so we did not have a quorum.

2. Mark thanked the Negotiation Team for their long and hard work with the contract.

3. Mark said Jovan the Union on August 10, 2009 and had traffic issue on August 14. He has hired an outside attorney who will representing him at his step 3 hearing. The Union will not be respresenting him since he is no longer a dues paying member.

4. Mark talked of some concerns at the water plant due to the installation of cameras. He will discuss with manangement.

5. September 12, 2009 there is a People Meeting & Steward Training from 10am-2pm in Palmetto/Bradenton. He would like as many of us to attend. Bill said he might attend. Sue has other plans and cannot attend.

6. Mark has a conference call with Council 79 on September 2.

7. Will ask Cathy to order pizza and soda for the September 8 General Membership meeting.

8. Mark sent an email to the AFL-CIO about meeting with them and he will check to see why he hasn’t heard from them.

9. The General Membership meeting is next Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Fleischmann Park Community Center.

10. Meeting concluded at 5:55pm since no quorom.
